The GE Fanuc IC697CMM742 is a high-performance Ethernet Interface Module (Type 2) for the Series 90-70 PLC platform. It connects the IC697 PLC to an IEEE 802.3 CSMA/CD 10 Mbps Ethernet LAN, enabling TCP/IP communications for programming, configuration, data exchange, and diagnostics.
The module features three network ports — 10BaseT (RJ-45), 10Base2 (BNC), and AUI (15-pin) — allowing direct connection to twisted-pair or ThinWire networks without an external transceiver, or flexible attachment to other media via a user-supplied AUI transceiver. Firmware is pre-loaded for easy installation and can be upgraded in-system via the RS-485 serial port.
