EtherCAT

The EL3048 analog input terminal processes signals in the range between 0 and 20 mA. The current is digitized to a resolution of 12 bits and is transmitted (electrically isolated) to the higher-level automation device. The EL3048 EtherCAT Terminal combines eight channels in one housing. The power contacts are connected through. The 0 V power contact is used as reference ground connection for the inputs. The signal state of the EtherCAT Terminal is indicated by light emitting diodes.

The EK1100 EtherCAT Coupler is the link between the EtherCAT protocol at fieldbus level and the EtherCAT Terminals. The coupler converts the passing telegrams from Ethernet 100BASE-TX to E-bus signal representation. A station consists of a coupler and any number of EtherCAT Terminals that are automatically detected and individually displayed in the process image.

The EL2535-0002 output terminals are specially designed for the precise control of single and double-coil proportional valves and proportional solenoid valves. They regulate the output current through pulse width modulation (PWM) of the supply voltage and are electrically isolated from the E-bus. The current values (0 to maximum output current) are specified by the automation device through a 16-bit value. The output stages are protected against overload and short circuit. Each EtherCAT pulse width current terminal contains two channels whose signal state is indicated by LEDs. The light emitting diodes simplify local diagnosis by displaying typical load and wiring faults.

The Beckhoff EL9011 is a passive EtherCAT Terminal designed to function as a physical termination for the E‑bus at the end of a modular I/O station. Its core function is to cover the exposed E‑bus contacts on the last terminal, protecting them from contamination and preventing communication errors. Its use is mandatory for every EK1100 EtherCAT station, ensuring reliable operation of the communication bus.
