The GE Fanuc IC697CPX782 is the highest-performance CPU module in the Series 90-70 PLC family, featuring a 96 MHz 32-bit 80486DX4 microprocessor with hardware floating-point math capability . It is a single-slot CPU designed for complex real-time control of machines, processes, and material handling systems in demanding industrial applications . The CPX782 provides 1 MB of battery-backed CMOS RAM for user program and data storage, plus 256 KB of non-volatile flash memory for optional program retention . It supports up to 12,288 discrete I/O points (any mix) and 8,000 analog I/O points, with an exceptionally fast Boolean execution rate of 0.4 microseconds per function .
