The KL5152 is a two-channel interface terminal from the Beckhoff Bus Terminal series (KL series) for the traditional K-Bus I/O system, designed for direct connection of incremental encoders with integrated position latch (registration) functionality on each channel. It reads the A/B track signals (and zero pulse) from two incremental encoders, maintains position counters, and can latch the position values on external triggers or zero pulses — enabling precise event-based position capture on two axes. It is the K-Bus counterpart to the EtherCAT EL5152. Unlike EtherCAT terminals (EL series), the KL series communicates via the K-Bus and is typically used with Beckhoff Bus Couplers or Bus Terminal Controllers.
