The Beckhoff KL9550 is a surge filter terminal for the Bus Terminal system. It contains overvoltage filters for both the 24 V DC field supply and the system (K-bus) supply, protecting the terminal station from line-bound surge voltages caused by high-energy disturbances such as switching overvoltages from inductive loads or lightning strikes on supply lines.
