The Beckhoff EK1561 is a 1-port EtherCAT POF (Polymer Optical Fiber) junction used to create star topologies within an EtherCAT Terminal segment. It converts the physical layer from standard 100BASE-TX (copper) to 100BASE-FX (POF fiber) when paired with a coupler like the EK1100.
