The Siemens 6AV1242-0AB10 is a CP527 Communication Processor for the SIMATIC S5 programmable logic controller platform. It is a color graphics module designed for installation in S5-115U, S5-135U, S5-150U, and S5-155U PLC racks, providing video display and printer connectivity for process visualization and alarm logging.
The CP527 is the higher-performance successor to the CP526, offering approximately 10× faster processing, a larger memory module capacity (256 KB), and a printer port for documentation and alarm printing. It is configured using COM B+B GRAPH software and connects to the S5 PLC via two 20 mA line interfaces.
