Q1: What is the primary use case for the EI812F module?
It is used as a communication interface to connect ABB AC 800F and AC 500 series controllers to Ethernet networks, enabling integration with SCADA systems, HMIs, and other devices using standard industrial protocols.
Q2: Does this module support network redundancy?
Yes, the dual Ethernet ports support the Media Redundancy Protocol (MRP), which can provide a failover time of less than 50ms in the event of a network fault.
Q3: Which ABB controllers are compatible with this module?
The EI812F is compatible with the ABB AC 500-S, AC 500-eCo, and AC 800F controller families. For the AC 800F, it is specifically designed to be used with processors like the PM 802F.
Q4: What are the physical dimensions of this module?
While dimensions vary by source, the most detailed specification lists dimensions as 86.1 mm × 102 mm × 58.5 mm (height x width x depth). Other sources list 125 mm x 155 mm x 28 mm.
